There are days when I’m not too sure of who I am or of the power that works through my fingertips, compelling me to create what I cannot perceive otherwise.
With my constantly shifting ideas, I’ve just begun to understand where it comes from … I dream a lot, in vivid colors. Yes, I do! I fly over cities, the mountains, the earth. I touch and I feel the warmth of it all on my fingers, my eyes, and in my heart. I wake up knowing that the last few hours had more truth and courage in them than the hours I live in my waking hours. What I’m able to put on paper is a mere fraction of what I see and feel. In doing so, I believe I’ve found the mystery that keeps me going day after day after day…
My art is the only thing in my life that I do not question and it doesn’t question me back. It doesn’t judge me even when I do. It’s a bowl where I release all my fears, my pains, my losses, my loves…
And after I am done creating, I have no fear left in me, my inner world feels calm, placid. It doesn’t leave space for prejudice, hate, or sorrow. It’s the God in me, my art!
I received my BFA in Applied Arts in the Arts College of Chandigarh, India. But I couldn’t have made a better choice of creating art for the sake of it. I take each day as it comes & let the heavens do the rest ...
